Our featured job of the week is for an NHS Foundation Trust in London who are now seeking to appoint a Director of Finance who will report into and work closely with their Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As well as being a critical organisational role in its own right, this role also offers a fantastic development opportunity for the right candidate.

The Trust s a complex and busy mental health trust serving diverse and vibrant local communities across seven London Boroughs in south London with a combined population of nearly 2 million people. They provide specialist services for people from across the UK and recently have launched their services in the Middle East. They have recently been successful in securing additional funding for their Biomedical Research Centre from the National Institute for Health Research and have an extensive training and education portfolio.

In 2015 they were inspected by the CQC and received the overall rating of ‘Good’. They are also pleased that the Trust was chosen as one of the best 100 places to work by the Health Service Journal (HSJ) in July 2015, which recognises how they are working hard to create and maintain an environment where people can enjoy their work and maximise their contribution in an open and transparent culture.

Whilst the balance of work for the Director of Finance will be primarily operational and reporting directly to the CFO, you will work closely as a team and the CFO will actively encourage you to lead specific strategic pieces of work at Board level both inside and outside the organisation.
