A large healthcare organisation is currently looking to appoint a Director of Governance, Performance and Business Services whilst they recruit to the permanent post.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide strong and visible leadership to the quality and performance agenda in driving improvements in services, and health services received by local population reflecting key recommendations around safety, clinical effectiveness and improved patient outcomes and experience;
• Ensure that constitutional standards are met for population, also provider performance is reported to the the governing body and appropriate committees and that strategies are implemented to rectify any failings;
• Ensure that engagement systems with the public and members are in place that support the organisations commissioning processes and comply with all statutory duties and are inclusive of all sections of the borough’s communities;
• Overseeing the management of the organisation’s corporate reputation so that it is seen to be appropriately and responsibly leading the commissioning of healthcare services locally;
• Lead on the development of policies and procedures to ensure all governance arrangements that might affect the organisation are in line with national standards and best practice and ensure that the Governing body is fully briefed on these matters and has regard to them when making decisions;

The ideal candidate with have:

• Demonstrable experience of leading on policy development and implementation;
• Experience of developing strategies and working at a corporate level and influencing strategic decision making;
• Proficient project and change management skills for development of business cases to closure;
• Experience of working at Board Level.
