Our featured job of the week is for an NHS organisation based in London, who are currently looking for a Director of Governance, Quality Assurance & Nursing for an initial period of 3 months.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Holding overall responsibility for supporting the processes of clinical and corporate governance;
• Ensuring that the framework and relevant policies comply with all legal, statutory and good practice guidance requirements, and are implemented and reviewed regularly;
• Ensuring there is a sound and effective risk management process in place and that robust governance processes are in place to ensure that this is being operated effectively;
• Ensuring that robust clinical risk management and complaints management systems are in place in line with national policy;
• Developing the audit framework in relation to nursing staff and other non-medical health professionals, ensuring that audits are executed consistently and regularly and that learning from audits is communicated and implemented;

A successful candidate will have:

• Be a registered nurse who has developed a high level of professional expertise and knowledge and has worked at a strategic level;
• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and undertaking appropriate revalidation;
• Educated to Masters level or has equivalent level of experience of working at senior level in a specialist area;
• Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development;
• General understanding of healthcare economyand commissioning, and appreciation of the broad social, political and economic trends influencing it.
