A London based NHS organisation is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Director of Nursing and Quality for a part time interim contract of 24 hours per week.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the delivery of excellent clinical governance support services to CCGs including Serious Incident Management, Clinical quality assurance services, PALS & Complaints and Equality and Diversity support services;
• Providing senior specialist clinical input to delivery of clinical governance support services to assure CCGs that the CSU’s clinical governance services are robust and are being delivered to the highest standard;
• Leading board-level engagement with providers to provide  customers with assurance of quality analysis;
• Reviewing and providing internal challenge to clinical governance services always ensuring the highest quality service delivery;
• Providing professional leadership to the clinical quality team;
• Working alongside designated Quality Governance Leads to enable them to be accountable and responsible for the services they are commissioning in terms of performance management on quality and triangulation of information;
• Developing a network for nursing and midwifery staff to enable best practice to be developed, shared and disseminated;
• Ensuring the organisations strategy on quality is formulated, understood by stakeholders and is delivered utilising all available resources efficiently and effectively;
• Maintaining own professional ability and be involved with external nursing networks.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A current valid NMC registration or equivalent professional clinical body;
• Recent experience in the management of complex cases, serious incidents, complaints and investigation;
• Held a substantive senior role within an NHS organisation;
• The abilityto think and plan strategically, tactically and creatively.
