A leading NHS organisation based in the East Midlands is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Director of Transformation to oversee, orchestrate and deliver a system-wide multi-faceted transformational reform programme based on a five year strategic plan.

The Director of Transformation will be responsible for overall progress against the transformation plan and its key change programmes and ensure the projects remain clearly aligned to the delivery of the strategic objectives and highlight any potential issues that may adversely affect or threaten delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Further developing and nurturing working relationships and partnership arrangements between constituent organisations to help facilitate delivery of the five year Transformation Plan;
  • Defining the appropriate benefits and incentives which will then proactively bind everyone to collective outcomes;
  • Ensuring that organisations are optimising for the whole health and social care system and not only for themselves;
  • Overseeing the construction and progress of transformational change programmes, identifying, establishing and managing interaction between projects and seeking the necessary cooperation to ensure effective;
  • Designing, documenting and directing the required project management processes and policies for implementation across the health and social care system;
  • Ensuring mechanisms are in place to learn lessons arising and disseminating these to appropriate people across the constituent organisations;
  • Designing, developing and operating risk management, issue management and associated change management processes;
  • Regularly considering key risks to delivery of the plan’s programmes, instigating mitigation plans and actions to remove or minimise impact;
  • Focusing on the implications of health and social policy and the global development of healthcare trends ensuring that horizon scanning occurs and identified opportunities are maximised;
  • Contributing to the development of new operating models for commissioning that optimise innovation from the market;
  • Ensuring that integrated care can be delivered in a way that is sustainable and contributes to the long term stability of the health and social care economy.

The Director of Transformation will provide leadership and direction for coordinating the health and social care system efforts to work differently within a new landscape to ensure resilience and sustainability of Health and Social Care provision.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree level education or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience;
  • Proven track record with extensive experience at Senior Management level, leading and managing health and/or social services;
  • Significant experience of leading large scale cross-organisational reconfiguration programmes, in complex and politically sensitive NHS and social care environments;
  • Proven ability to manage strategic planning and service transformation within a large complex organisation;
  • Experience of delivering highly complex performance and other reports and messages to a diverse range of people in ways suited to the audience in one to one and group situations.
