Finegreen Associates are currently recruiting on behalf of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, who have an exciting opportunity to join their team as Head of Information, managing and leading their excellent Informatics Function.

Key accountabilities:

Being accountable to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will be responsible for both the Informatics function and the management of the Trust Information Team. You will support both the robust management of contractual and operational information management, as well as leading the development of the team as a Business Intelligence unit to deliver nimble online and real time feedback to clinicians and managers.

The Trust has a number of ambitious strategic objectives which rely on high quality intelligence: a need for complex models on benchmarked clinical outcomes, profit margins, market profiles, referral demand and capacity utilisation; a desire to develop and lead the NHS field in clinical outcomes both at ward and clinician level; the potential for organisational partnerships within North West London whose risks and benefits need to be analysed.

The ideal candidate:

A motivated, enthusiastic and articulate person is needed to take up this opportunity and deliver real value to Chelsea and Westminster’s patients through the intelligent and creative use of information. You will be leading on the design, implementation and maintenance of highly complex information systems, providing relevant and insightful data analysis and intelligence to support decision making and performance improvements.

You will have the opportunity to develop and implement a Trust-wide strategy to deliver the vision, including staff capacity, implementing systems and ensuring continuous process improvements. You will provide strategic advice on information management and performance, informing the operational framework of the organisation.

As our ideal candidate, you will already be operating at management level within an Informatics/Management Information environment. You will be a highly analytical thinker with knowledge of information infrastructures, reporting suites and data warehousing, as well as the technical development of business intelligence tools and contractual management, with the ability to harness the enthusiasm of your team to deliver more.

The key to underpinning all of the above will be exceptional communication skills. You will have the ability to translate complex information to a range of ‘customers’ including the Trust Board, General Managers, Clinicians and Commissioners in a relevant and engaging manner, always taking into account your audience.
