Our featured job of the week is for an NHS organisation in London who are looking to appointment an Interim Head of Quality for an initial period of 3 months.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing expert advice to Commissioners, GP Member Practices and Provider organisations on all matters pertaining to Commissioning for Quality ensuring the CCG mitigates any risk;
• Investigating and addressing quality issues reported through the Amber Alert process by liaising with Service Leads and Clinical Leads and making recommendations for improvements and holding them to account for delivery;
• Managing the Serious Incident process from reporting to sign off working with the CSU Patient Safety Team to ensure incidents are thoroughly investigated and learning has taken place to improve patient safety;
• Proactively managing Provider Quality Action Plans seeking to address quality matters to ensure compliance and being responsible for holding Providers to account for delivering quality improvements;

A successful candidate will have:

• CCG/ Commissioner experience in a similar role who is able to hit the ground running from day one;
• A focus on quality in out of hospital services i.e. – community, mental health and nursing homes;
• Experience working as an internal consultant based on our team model i.e. being experts/ advisers to CCG commissioners on quality matters as well as holding Providers to account;
• The ability to work autonomously.
