FRP Advisory raises £5,800 in 29-hour charity hike

Three members of FRP Advisory LLP, the UK restructuring, recovery and insolvency firm, trekked 100km across the South Downs in the Trailwalker 2010 Challenge, raising over £5,800 for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Philip Watkins, Jason Baker and Dominic Roberts, all of FRP Advisory, successfully completed the Trailwalker 2010 Challenge in a leisurely 29 hours and 40 minutes. They did this together with six clients from Barclays Business Support and three solicitor colleagues.

The Challenge, which took place over the weekend of 17-18 July, is a physically and mentally demanding team walk across the South Downs. This year, the event attracted 273 teams of four people, all required to walk 100km within 30 hours, to raise as much money as possible for two worthy charities, namely Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam.

The walkers were supported by a reliable support crew, comprising five further FRP Advisory team members; James Snowdon, Matthew Kesek, Ben Sanders, Joanne Wallis and Graham Holton kept them fed and watered throughout the event.

Commenting on the Challenge, Jason Baker, said: “We are all absolutely delighted to have completed the Challenge and to have raised so much money for two very worthy causes.”

He continued, “We are very grateful to everyone who so generously supported us and helped us to exceed our fundraising goal of £4,000. Trailwalker 2010 was a very tough Challenge, but it was well worth it – and we actually look forward to doing it again next year!”
