Gambro makes monetary donation to the Red Cross in Japan
Apr 06, 2011 16:37 BSTGambro is donating 10M Japanese Yen, equivalent of app. 720 000 SEK, to the Japanese Red Cross as part of its continued support to the people of Japan during this time of crisis.
On March 11 at 2.46 pm Japanese time, a massive 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan, followed by tsunami waves that caused widespread destruction. 11500 people have been confirmed dead and there are nearly 17 000 missing and 3000 injured.
Gambro extends its condolences to the Japanese people and remains fully committed to supporting its customers and their patients in any way possible. Gambro’s primary concern is to ensure continuity of care for the patients and has been able to secure uninterrupted product supply to its customers.
“We hope this donation will help support the Red Cross in Japan in its important task to aid the survivors of the earthquake and subsequent tsunami,” says Ulf Mattsson, CEO, Gambro.
Gambro is also coordinating collections from employees around the world which will be donated to the Red Cross in Japan later this month.
