Appeal after 22 year old woman was seriously sexually assaulted in Eastleigh

We are appealing for witnesses and information after a 22 year old woman was seriously sexually assaulted in Eastleigh.

The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Tuesday, January 8 and the early hours of Wednesday, January 9.

The victim has walked down Beaulieu Road before going through an alleyway to Selbourne Drive. She then went through another alleyway into Whyteways, where the offence took place.

A 20-year-old man from Eastleigh was arrested. He has been released from custody while investigations continue.

Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries in the area.
