Appeal after men assaulted in Southampton

Officers are appealing for information after two men were assaulted in Southampton.

At some time between 2.45am and 3.15am on Sunday, 6 January two 18-year-old men were walking along West Quay Road in the direction of Harbour Parade when they were assaulted and knocked unconscious.

One of the men sustained a fractured jaw and the other suffered extensive bruising and swelling to his face.

Detective Constable Marie Harding, said: “We’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone who may have photos or video footage on their mobile phones that could assist. People driving in the area at the time may have also captured footage on a dashcam.

A 25-year-old man from Salisbury has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm. A 28-year-old man from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They have both been released from custody but remain under investigation.
