Appeal for witnesses following shop burglary in Southampton

We are appealing for witnesses to a burglary which took place at a shop in Southampton.

Between 5.35am and 5.45am on Tuesday 7 May, a vehicle pulled into the forecourt of McColl’s on Rownhams Road before three men got out and forced entry to the shop through the front door.

The men, who were all dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered, then broke into a locked office and stole two safes as well as a quantity of cigarettes from inside the store.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who has information about the incident, or saw a silver Volkswagen Golf estate in the area around this time.

In addition, if you have found the discarded stolen safes in the area please let us know.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44190156145, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
