It took place around 10.25pm on Tuesday 11 September, as the 34-year-old victim walked along Winchester Road, from the direction of the town centre.

As she reached the junction with Penrith Road, a man attempted to grab the bag she was carrying.

He punched her several times before running off with the bag along Penrith Road.

The woman sustained bruising during the incident.
