Appeal made in Totton robbery investigation

We’re appealing for information after an electric bike was stolen during a robbery in Totton.

It took place around 6.30pm on Tuesday 8 January.

A 14-year-old was cycling off Library Road, near the duck pond, when he was approached by three teenage boys.

The victim was punched in the face and his bike was stolen. The boy sustained a black eye.

The bike is described as a dark blue Eschara Explorer, with a power box on the left handle and Bicycles 4 U marked on the main frame.

The first male was described as:

  • white
  • aged 15 to 16
  • around 5ft 7ins tall
  • wearing dark coloured hooded top and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

The second male is described as:

  • black
  • aged 14 to 16
  • around 5ft 4ins tall
  • of chubby build
  • wearing a shiny black padded jacket with a hood.

An investigation is underway and officers are making enquiries.

As part of the investigation, a 17-year-old boy from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, possession of an offensive weapon and robbery.

He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.
