Arrests made in Lymington robbery investigation

Four people have been arrested following reports of three street robberies in Lymington.

The incidents between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday 18 June. No-one was injured and no weapons were seen.

The first incident is being treated as an attempted robbery and took place close to the sports ground in Southampton Road between 8.30pm and 8.47pm. A 21-year-old man was threatened after being approached by a group of males but nothing was stolen.

The second incident took place between 8.30pm and 9.06pm in Southampton Road near Waitrose. A 13-year-old boy was approached by a group of males and a phone charger bank was stolen.

The third incident took place in Pennington Square, near Tesco. A 16-year-old boy had a silver chain stolen after being approached by four males.

The incidents are being treated as linked.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery.

They have been bailed until July 16, pending further enquiries.
