CCTV image released in Basingstoke burglary investigation

We are appealing for information as part of an investigation into a burglary at a jewellers in Basingstoke.

Officers were called after a man used a sledgehammer to break a window of the Beaverbrooks store in Festival Place, Basingstoke, just after 11pm on Sunday 17 June.

The man then stole 17 Breitling watches, with a total value of around £60,000, from the store, before leaving the shopping centre and running away.

We have released a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to about this burglary.

The image does not show the man’s face, but we are keen to hear from anyone who saw a man wearing similar clothing at around this time.

The man is described as:

  • white
  • around 6ft tall
  • wearing a grey hooded top with a black body, grey tracksuit bottoms with three vertical black stripes and white Adidas logo, grey gloves and grey trainers
  • having a black rucksack strapped to his front
  • Were you in the Festival Place area at around 11pm on Sunday 17 June? Did you see anything suspicious?
