Fatal collision outside Morrison's in Totton

We are investigating a fatal collision which took place in a walkway outside Morrison’s on Spruce Drive, Totton.

At 11.59am today (Thursday 12 July), police received reports of a collision involving a Peugeot 206 and two pedestrians.

One of the pedestrians, an 86-year-old woman from Chandler’s Ford, was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment where she died a short time later.

Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The second pedestrian, a 22-year-old woman from Chandler’s Ford, has been taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to life-changing injuries.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 76-year-old woman from Totton, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

Officers are conducting enquiries to establish the exact circumstances, and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision.
