Incident on Southampton Common

Officers arrived on scene just after 4.20pm this afternoon (Thursday 13 December) following reports of an incident on Southampton Common, near the Cowherds Pub.

A man, who was in possession of a knife, threatened members of the public.

Three people are being treated for injuries.

Officers deployed Taser at the scene to detain a man.

A 34-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested and remains in police custody.

A police presence remains on Southampton Common as part of the ongoing investigation.
