Investigations begin following theft and robbery in Bordon

Officers are investigating following reports of two separate incidents overnight in Bordon.

We were called to a report of a theft at 3.14am this morning (Friday 21 September).

Damage was caused to the ATM at the Sleaford Service Station on Farnham Road.

Cash drawers were stolen and a telehandler was left at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing.

The second incident took place at the One Stop store in Rydal Close.

We received a report of a robbery shortly before 6am today. Staff members were threatened before cash was stolen. No serious injuries were reported.

An investigation has begun to determine the exact circumstances of what took place.

The two incidents are not being treated as linked at this time.

Acting Inspector Philip Shore said: “We understand people will be concerned by these two incidents.

“We take all such reports seriously. Detectives are working hard on both incidents to identify those responsible.

“Neighbourhood officers will also be patrolling for reassurance. If you have a query, please speak to them.

“If you know anything about either of these incidents then please call 101 – any information could prove vital to our investigations.”
