Man jailed following Winchester burglary investigation

A man has been jailed following an investigation into two burglaries in Winchester.

Daniel Taylor, 36, of Waterhouse Close, Twyford, was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 14 September.

He had admitted two counts of burglary, three counts of fraud and a breach of a community order at a previous hearing.

The charges relate to two burglaries at homes in Goring Field, Winchester, on Monday 12 March and Tuesday 13 March.

Property stolen included tools and jewellery. A credit card was later used without the owner’s permission at three stores in Eastleigh.

Detective Constable Craig Robinson, from Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Hawk, said: “Burglary is an intrusive and upsetting crime and can cause real concern for local communities.

“I am glad therefore we have been able to bring sometime to justice quickly.”
