Police investigate attempted robbery at Dibden petrol station

We’re appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery at a petrol station in Dibden.

Officers were called to the Tesco petrol station on Sizer Way after a customer and his wife were approached by a man.

The 64-year-old customer has just finished refuelling his Skoda Octavia when the man, who had a white scarf covering his face, leaned into the car window and demanded their money.

The man threatened the couple but they were able to drive off quickly.

The incident happened just after 9pm on September 21.

The man is described as being aged between 20 to 25, 5ft 5ins tall, white, of a slim build and was wearing a black anorak-style jacket with the hood up and jeans. The white scarf was pulled across his face.

He was last seen running into bushes beside the forecourt.

DC Gary Allsopp said: “Fortunately no one was hurt but we are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help us identify this man.

“If you saw anyone hanging around the forecourt on Friday evening, acting suspiciously, please get in touch.”
