Press release -

Helmer and Sustainability

Helmer is dedicated to only using CITES, (Convention for International Trade in Endangered Species) certified snake skin. As trading in exotic skins has long been a controversial subject with emotional debate on both sides, we are doing our utmost to respect all opinions and the international laws that governs these jurisdictions.

After researching the issue, we are very aware that there are many people that deal in illegal trade in exotic skins, which does threaten the environment and the survival of several species especially in countries that are poorly regulated. Unfortunately, it is all too easy and also much easier to acquire non- CITES skins and products than CITIES certified ones, which becomes much more expensive because of the regulations and certification required. However as a principle and out of complete respect for nature and the world in which we live, we abide by all the CITES regulations. We ensure that our skins come from regulated and well-managed producers that abide by the laws.
