Britt’s very first customer was a friend who wanted a birthday cake, she says of the experience; “Panic suddenly set in. I was ridiculously nervous because if I baked at home for me and something went wrong, it didn’t matter, it would still be eaten, and I would put it down to a learning experience. All at once there was added pressure…The negative thoughts were relentless. But, I put on my big girl pants, took a deep breath and got to work.”

Her resilience wins through every time though in the closing chapter when she says, “It may sound like throughout this book, I’ve been putting you off or trying to scare you away from taking up this cake decorating career.
