Icomera board appoints Karl-Johan Holm to CEO; Roger Sandén announces retirement. Icomera, a world leader in mobile connectivity solutions, announced today that Karl-Johan Holm has been appointed President and CEO as of 15th April 2013. Roger Sandén, Icomera's President and CEO until that date, will stay closely involved through the transition to impart knowledge and consult as required.
Following a successful three-month competitive pilot and tender process First ScotRail has awarded Icomera the contract to provide on-train WiFi services on its Class 170 fleet of trains. The 59 trains, which operate on the busy Edinburgh-Glasgow route, will be fitted with the award-winning Icomera X6 to deliver high speed Internet access to all passengers onboard.
Icomera and the Swedish/Norwegian rail operator Linx launched the world's first commercial passenger WiFi service in September 2002. With its multi carrier, link aggregating capabilities it was a revolution in onboard passenger services.
