Santa helps ID Medical deliver joy to Milton Keynes children’s ward

As a lead supporting member of ‘Team Leo’ in partnership with Milton Keynes University Hospital, ID Medical participated in Milton Keynes Hospital Charity’s annual Christmas Jumper day on Friday 11th December and raised £550.39 for Leo’s Appeal. Recognising that support goes much further than donations, especially at this time of year, the UK’s leading medical recruiter shared its festive spirit and asked staff to donate toys, teddies, and books to the children’s ward to ensure they have something to smile about this Christmas.

On Monday 21st December, in the week leading up to Christmas, ID Medical staff, along with Santa Claus, brought festive joy to the hospital to personally deliver sacks full of goodies to every child on the ward. The branded sacks were kindly donated by TKing Associates for ID Medical staff to fill.

Jenny Howells, Corporate Fundraiser at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, comments on the company’s support: “I am absolutely delighted that our long standing supporter ID Medical is helping to spread a bit of Christmas joy over the festive season with a wonderful donation of toys! These will help to make a big difference to our young patients and their families who will be staying on the ward at the time of the year. I am really grateful for this generous donation and I know everyone on our children’s ward will be extremely pleased.”

The aim of Leo’s Appeal is to raise £200,000 to enhance children’s care services at Milton Keynes Hospital and ensure that every child admitted to the hospital receives the best care possible. Along with its lion mascot Leo, the Charity encourages the Milton Keynes community to help the hospital go above and beyond for local children and their families.

Caryn Cooper, head of marketing at ID Medical, comments on the company’s CSR efforts in 2015: “ID Medical’s support for Leo’s Appeal was the beginning of the company’s social brand evolution in September 2013 when we initiated a cause-related campaign for our local client and its charity, and it has since organically evolved and continues to do so.

“In our business processes and CSR strategy, patient care is always our ultimate aim. It’s so fulfilling to know that our long-standing partnership with Milton Keynes Hospital Charity continues to give us the opportunity to help patients directly.

“We are fully integrated with the Trust in the raising of funds for ‘Leo’s Appeal’ and our staff have completely got behind our ongoing activities to successfully align the company with a related and local cause, which goes beyond raising funds. The true value received from ongoing CSR and corporate giving activities with our key clients is the social good will, positively impacting so many people beyond our NHS clients and extending support to the wider community.

“We look forward to extending our support to Milton Keynes Hospital, its charity and our clients across the UK in 2016. The New Year is going to see our support grow even further as we ensure all business processes are integrated with our CSR strategy for the year.”
