Discover Childrens Story Centre select imagineear to bring their ‘On Track’ exhibition to life at the Stratford Centre

imagineear’s mediaPacker proves the perfect handheld tool to store and present stories of children touched by the Olympic ambitions of Stratford, East London.

While Stratford in East London was preparing to host the Olympic Games, Discover Children’s Story Centre spent seven years between 2005 and 2012 interviewing and photographing children from Carpenter’s Primary School.

As the local area has changed, these photographs and stories convey the dreams, hopes, frustrations and everyday lives of seven children living on the edge of the Olympic Park.

Discover have worked with imagineear to bring this unique exhibition documenting the lives of seven children to life by using the mediaPacker to deliver audio and visual content to complement the exhibition displays. The mediaPacker is a hand-held guide used at locations as varied as the Taj Mahal in Agra, the National Museum of Singapore and the Arsenal Emirates stadium. One of the strengths of the mediaPacker platform is its modular scalability, accommodating very large visitor attractions with installations of 4,500 devices, as easily as smaller and specialist installations of 10 players as here in Stratford. Another valuable aspect is the ease with which galleries are able to create, edit, update and upload their own material to create seamless, best-in-class commentaries and tours.

Nick Sherrard, imagineear’s Head of Business Development, commented: “It is a pleasure to support such a fascinating insight into the lives of seven London children, touched by the Olympics in a unique way.  The exhibition showcases the versatility of the mediaPacker platform, and brings a new dimension to the stories”.
