Port City of Jaffa to receive visitors now in their own language, thanks to an initiative backed by The Old Jaffa Development Company and London-based multimedia company imagineear

imagineear Ltd announced today the launch of their Jaffa City audio tour, telling the story in multiple languages for visitors to the Mediterranean's oldest continuously functioning port city.

The Old Jaffa Development Company has teamed up with imagineear to produce multilingual audio tours to guide visitors on a unique stroll through more than 4,000 years of turbulent history.  A city occupied by the Egyptians, the Israelites, the Greeks and Romans, the Mamelukes, the French Crusaders and the Ottomans, as well as the British, the fascinating and turbulent history of Jaffa is inseparable from that of the Middle East as a whole.  The tour takes the visitor on a fascinating journey through the city, for thousands of years serving as the gateway to Palestine and Israel.  Using imagineear's  APpro™ player and an illustrated map, visitors are offered 11 "stop and listen" points of interest from Kedumim Square and the Port of Jaffa to The House of Simon the Tanner and The Flea Market.  The tour is produced in English, Hebrew and Russian with German, Spanish and French added in early 2012.

Ziv Kushnir, Commercial Director of imagineear commented:  "The tour takes us on a historical journey through the 400 streets and alleyways of Jaffa.  The city has so much to offer, and so many great stories to tell: of Napoleon's visit in 1799, of the oldest synagogue in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, the home and office of the Ottoman Governor and the port by which King Solomon imported Cedars from Lebanon in order to construct his temple".
