Jayne Pierson London Fashion Week Catwalk Show Murigen AW16

Autumn/Winter 2016 'Murigen' Collection Jayne Pierson

This season Jayne Pierson launches her Autumn Winter 2016 Collection ‘Murigen’ with innovative show producers, On|Off London, officially ON Schedule as part of the British Fashion Council’s, London Fashion Week.

Jayne Pierson will showcase an exclusive, invitation only catwalk show at The Vinyl Factory, Soho W1F on the 19th of February 2016 with showing times from 7pm with a following after party for 300 guests of fashion editors, trend setters and VIPs.

The catwalk show will conceptualize the story of Murigen the Welsh goddess of lakes and water sprites with another story called Princess Nobody by Andrew Lang (1884). The catwalk show is produced by the innovative fashion week showcase On|Off http://onoff.tv with Dazed & Confused magazine covering the entire event including a live fashion shoot directly after the catwalk.

The Murigen Collection is inspired by organic shapes created with perfect symmetry and balance. The silhouettes in this collection are crafted in the spirit of luxury and pay homage to reappropriation and the cultural process of reclaiming artefacts.

This season Jayne Pierson collaborates on MURIGEN AW16 with long-term friend and modern artist, Neale Howells, creating a painterly exploration where luxury takes on a brutal harmony, exploring and reabsorbing subcultural styles and commodification. Along with an eco-spiritual focus on traditional folk lore, shamanism and a return to the forgotten wonders of the environment which brings about a raw sophistication with a mystical-future aura. Building the concept organically, the pieces in the collection inform the narrative, driving the character Murigen forward while moving away from the traditional.

Murigen AW16 integrates delicate hand embroidered Chantilly lace, chiffon pleating, taffeta and dot tulle lingerie alongside structured and hand-painted soft leathers. Colours are black, contrasting tartan taffetas, lamb nappa and a pop of primaries.

Award-winning (ASVOFF) fashion designer, Jayne Pierson, has received celebrity, media and public praise and continues to build season-upon-season in establishing the brand as a unique concept; an “art driven" fashion house with no limits.

Jayne Pierson creates directional, luxury womenswear that redefines the female form in empowering and uncompromising garments in leather pleating, luxe woven fabrics, future print, silks and draped leathers. Juxtaposing innovative material directions with avant-garde details inspired by a warped sense of history and intangible glitches in space and time, where historical references get confused and hybrids emerge, the collection encompasses high-end details and signature premium finishes.
