Kingsbridge Uncovers Plot to Build 4 Storey College Building on Public Open Space at Holders Lane
Apr 05, 2012 21:18 BST
Earlier today Kingsbridge uncovered plans University College Birmingham submitted to Birmingham City Council for their proposed Development of the Holders Lane Site. Senior Officials at the Council have been aware of these plans for sometime- but until now they have not been made public? Now we can see why. The plans include a huge 4 storey college building which would dominate the open landscape of the site with its suite of class-rooms, staff-offices, and grandiose, glass fronted student bar. It looks like a replica of the Titanic has grounded slap-bang in the middle of the Holders Lane greenbelt!

Add commentSince the plot to build the 4 story college building in the Holders Lane site has been uncovered, Kingsbridge citizens should protest so that the plans do not proceed. If Birmingham City Council approves these plans, this will encourage organizations, institutions and private developers to start making efforts to acquire Kingsbridge public land.
