Pioneering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in Africa

Key industry leaders passionate about addressing STEM in Africa will gather at the Royal Society to share experiences and discuss strategies to promote STEM at all levels throughout the continent.

There is an urgent need for education policy makers to redesign their National curriculum in preparation for the emphasis on STEM jobs in the future, and Renato Opertti, Coordinator, UNESCO - International Bureau of Education will be speaking on UNESCO IBE objectives to address support for regions and countries in the process of curriculum change.

There will be presentations from organisations like RISE, AIMs, Elsevier, NASA, African Development Bank and many more on topics such as ‘Promoting agricultural biotechnology and crop research to the general public, policymakers and the media in Africa’ by Biosciences for Farming in Africa (B4FA).

This event will also focus on the public private partnerships, and how private companies can address STEM in Africa as part of their corporate social responsibility. Other areas of focus include Women in STEM, project based learning and the missing A in STEM (Arts).

Konnect2Africa Ltd organises events that connect people of influence who are passionate about the development of the African continent. This event is organised in partnership with Mums In Technology Ltd – a child friendly coding school.
