Congestion on approach to the airport

Driving to the airport?

Please allow extra time for your journey

LLA is undergoing a £110m transformation, improving access and creating a bigger and better terminal and an improved passenger experience, during the transformation, we would advise passengers to leave extra time for their journey to and through the airport.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience whilst this work takes place.

Arriving by car

A new dual carriageway into the airport is due to open this autumn. However, this summer we are very busy and you will experience delays on the roads.

We strongly recommend allowing extra time for your journey to the airport and to consider public transport options, trains from St Pancras take as little as 32 minutes to Luton Airport Parkway.

Dropping Off/Picking Up?

LLA offers TWO HOURS FREE parking in the Long Term Car Park and 15 minutes FREE in Mid Term.

Please note the cost of using the drop-off zone is £3 for 10 minutes.

Parking on site?

A 1700 space multi-storey car park is due to open this autumn. Until then availability at on-site car parks is limited.

Customers staying longer than 24 hours are advised to pre-book and to arrive early to select a space in your chosen car park.

Public transport options

There are many public transport options including train services around the clock; trains from central London to Luton Airport Parkway can take as little as 20 minutes.

There are also lots of bus routes with around 400 services arriving and departing each day.
