Art festival in the Tuscany. Mas.s will be showing his latest work at the Chianciano biennale 2013.

From the 7th to the 14th of September this beautiful town in the heart of the Tuscany will be the platform for over 120 artists from around the world to showcase their work in this prestigious art competition. Five continents will be represented. Mas.s is thrilled to be amongst the selected. Hosted and curated by The Art Museum of Chianciano. It promises to be a very colourful event, perfect for Mas.s, this original Dutch artist.

The Biennale of Chianciano is an opportunity to see the artworks of talented artists that are selected from all around the world. In the 2011 edition, the represented nations ranged from Chile to India, Australia to Germany and from the USA to the Philippines. The exhibition is staged over approximately 3000 square meters of the Museum and gathers some of the best established as well as emerging talents in the world. 

The Chianciano Art Museum has had significant exposure on national and international newspapers and magazines during the Biennale of Chianciano and was praised by the New York Times. The Biennale 2011 hosted the works of 160 artists and was curated by the same team that has staged exhibitions in the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Lord Leighton Museum, the Gagliardi Gallery and the Chelsea Town Hall to name a few.


Lonnie Schlein - Official Director of Photography

Lonnie Schlein has been selected as the official director for photography for the Biennale of Chianciano 2013.

Lonnie has had a unique career as a photographer. He started at the New York Times in 1975 as Photo editor of the Sunday Arts & Leisure Section and Friday Weekend Section. In 1992 he was appointed Foreign Picture editor responsible for the photo coverage during the fall of Gorbachev and other major world events.

He then began to serve as the paper's National Picture Editor. This post was held during both the Clinton Administrations and the beginning of the George W. Bush Administration. He spent a great deal of time in Washington directing the photo assigning and editing of three Presidential elections, Inaugurations, the Impeachment processes.

In 1996, Lonnie served as the Picture Editor for the front Page of The New York Times,  presenting and selecting the images that would be published on the first page of the paper each day.

On September 11th 2001, Lonnie was assigned to handle all photography that dealt with the terrorist attack on the USA for the New York Times.

Lonnie is currently one of the most respected photographers in the world.
