The UK-Italian startup mobysign awarded by the UK Government

Milan, the 27th of January 2016 - MOBYSIGN (www.mobysign.com), the startup for secure mobile payment and strong authentication, received the UK-Italy Innovation Award for its technological innovation, awarded by the UK Government during the ceremony held today at the Italian Stock Exchange in Milan.

MOBYSIGN is an innovative app that allows making payments, both online and in physical stores through a common smartphone and with a unique PIN code, without any exchange of sensitive information, such as the credit card numbers and the PIN itself, and without POS to accept payments in the store.

"With this new technology our app allows overcoming the problems of e-commerce authentication – such as inserting passwords, credit card numbers, captcha, authentication keys - and also removes the need for shopkeepers to have a POS" says Antonio Bonsignore, the Italian founder of MOBYSIGN.

MOBYSIGN can be used not only for payments, but also for ATM withdrawals, for secure authentication to websites, to home and mobile banking, or to confirm our digital identity: each operation can be carried out in the most comfortable manner, by typing our phone number, nickname or username, or by reading a QR-code or showing a barcode at the checkout on the smartphone display: when a payment or authentication is requested, a popup waiting for a confirmation will automatically appear on the smartphone. Then you simply have to type your unique PIN and the transaction is executed in a few seconds.

MOBYSIGN has got an international patent and has recently opened an office in London.

The UK-Italy Innovation Award to mobysign was a part of the annual UK-Italy Business Awards ceremony, held on the 27th of January, at the Italian Stock Exchange, Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan, and organized by the UK government, the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) government agency, the British Consulate of Milan and the Italian Stock Exchange - London Stock Exchange Group.

The awards ceremony was attended by Christopher Prentice CMG, UK Ambassador in Italy, Tim Flear, Consul General and Director of UKTI Italy, and Raffaele Jerusalmi, CEO of Borsa Italiana, the Stock Exchange of Milan. The event was also attended by Alister Jones, Deputy Director of Global Operations, representing UKTI Headquarters.
