Press release -

Moray funding seminar

Several major sources of funding will be represented at a seminar in Elgin next month.

The event is being staged by Moray Council and Business Gateway and will provide community groups and organisations with a wealth of information about funding opportunities that are available to them.

Among key funders who will be represented are the BIG Lottery, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Sportscotland, Creative Scotland, Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland, Foundation Scotland and the Ena and Gordon Baxter Foundation.

Guest speaker will be leading fundraising consultant David Burgess.

The seminar takes place at Elgin Town Hall on Thursday, May 12.

Councillor John Cowe, the chairman of Moray Council’s economic development and infrastructure services committee, said projects run by local organisations were hugely valuable to communities in Moray.

He said: “This seminar provides an excellent opportunity to hear from key funders who will be able to guide you in the right direction about which funding programme best suits your project and how to create a strong and successful application.

“It also gives you the perfect chance to meet like-minded colleagues to share ideas and experiences.”

Groups and organisations are advised to book a place at the seminar to avoid disappointment.

Online booking is available at https://morayfundraising2016.eventbrite.co.uk or by calling 0300 123 4561 by Wednesday, May 4.
