Rainbow flag hoisted to mark LGBT History Month

February is lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history month, and Moray Council Convener, Cllr James Allen, raised the Rainbow flag at council HQ to day to mark the event.

Raising the flag with the council’s equalities officer, Don Toonen, James said: “It’s an opportunity to not only celebrate LGBT lives and culture but to challenge homophobic attitudes.

“As the council’s Equalities Champion I am determined that we clearly demonstrate our commitment to equalities across all sections of our community. I’m very proud of Moray Council’s record in this regard, and I feel that flying this flag from our rooftop sends out that message loud and clear.”
