Wizards and witches encouraged to join in Harry Potter-themed library fun

A WEEK of Harry Potter-themed fun takes place in Elgin library this October.

From Monday 22 until Saturday 27 October, a Wizarding Week of Magic will see a magical programme of Bookbug and storytime sessions, sorting and trivia quizzes, treasure hunts, colouring competitions, a photo booth and more.

Try your hand at a magical coding session with the learning centre staff, or learn about the History of Magic in Moray with local heritage. Taste some delicious magical treats at Cobbs Café.

For the hardcore Potter fans, why not form a team and take your NEWTs trivia quiz in the Gallery on Friday evening? On the Saturday, craft your way through a school day at Hogwarts making snitches, wands, mandrakes, spectrespecs and more, and have your photograph taken with real owls at the Owlery in Cooper Park (outside the library).

Events are suitable for all ages and are free, with the exception of the owl photos, but activities must be booked.

Don't forget your cloaks - wizarding dress is encouraged - and remember to accio your wand, Hogwarts letter and head for Platform 9 ¾ - otherwise known as Elgin library!
