HSJ Clinical Research Impact Award 2015 - competition now open

The NIHR Clinical Research Network is sponsoring a Health Service Journal (HSJ) award again this year. The title of the award is Clinical Research Impact.

This is the fifth consecutive year that we have sponsored the award which gives us an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the inspirational work that is taking place across the NHS to make clinical research a core activity and deliver real benefits for NHS patients.

Submissions should demonstrate the extent to which a Trust/practice as a whole has enhanced clinical research impact as part of its core business over the last 12 months. Judges will be looking for evidence of an organisation-wide approach rather than good practice in running specific research studies.

Further information including entry criteria is available on the HSJ website.

The deadline for entries is 19 June 2015. The award ceremony will be held in London on 18 November.

Past winners – find out why Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust was the best

Last year Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust received the award after demonstrating how it has taken a multi-faceted approach and introduced numerous new initiatives throughout the organisation to maximise the impact of research.

Danetre Medical Practice (primary care) was highly commended for achieving a step-change in research activity and implementing strategies to make clinical research an integral part of what this general practice does on a daily basis.
