Meet the speaker - Povilas Sugintas

Senior analyst at Euromonitor International, Povilas Sugintas, will be presenting qualitative and quantitative developments in both global and Nordic-specific natural health markets at Natural Products Scandinavia. Find out the main takeaways of the session and a few trends impacting the industry today:

  • What are the main takeaways visitors can get out of attending your session at NPS?

I’ll describe global trends in traditional/herbal medicine in broad strokes. Then I’ll zoom closer into the state of affairs in the Nordics. Lastly I will argue that if they expect to sustain and expand sales, herbal/traditional companies better be ready to steal a trick of two from conventional medicine sellers who first witnessed plateaued growth years ago and had enough time to ponder possible all kinds of possible solutions.

  • What trends/regulations are impacting the natural health industry today?

More than anything, natural health increasingly establishes itself as a viable option. Some people view it as an alternative to conventional medicine, others thing of it as complimentary to Western methods. This is not to say that recent stamps of approval by governments all over the world did not give an impetus for growth.

  • Why is it important to support the natural health movement?

Not too many weeks pass by without yet another warning about the dire state of our planet and the limited time we have to stop it. Supporting the natural health movement is the least we can do. Also, natural health emerges from the fringes and starts getting the recognition as a legitimate movement.

  • What are you looking forward to most about attending NPS?

NPS is one of those rare events where expertise AND genuine passion can be found. There’s not an exhibitor in the venue who does not believe in the product she presents and there’s not a single speaker onstage who does not mean every single word he says. A rare occasion indeed.

Povilas Sugintas' session will take place at 12.30 - 1.15 on 14 November in the Natural Theatre. To apply for a press pass, please visit > www.eventdata.co.uk/Forms/Default.aspx?FormRef=NPSB8Press.
