What are the main takeaways visitors can get out of attending your session at NPS?

Visitors will learn about some of the most important megatrends and sub-trends that are affecting the health and wellness industry in the future.

I will show how these trends are coming to life via front-running, inspirational new product developments and branding concepts. Lastly, I will show how visitors themselves can become a step ahead and proactively track the soundbites of the future and tie the findings into their product strategy and tactical activities whether they are brand owners, marketeers, retailers or buyers.

What consumer trends are impacting the health and wellness industry today?

I would turn the question around and ask what trends are going to affect the industry going forward. In the future some of the most important megatrends for the industry to be aware of are the ageing population, polarisation of health, global health challenges, the knowledge growth in bioscience, medicine and tech, the consumer trends for individualisation, immaterialism and sustainability.

These megatrends are affecting consumer demands and are creating sub-trends in mental and intuitive health, biohacking, DIY health, bacteria, sleep, beauty AI, personalised health experiences and a redefined premium.

How has health and wellness developed over the last 5 years?

In a few words: From reactive to proactive – especially in regards to sustainability. From “anti” to “pro” especially in regards to age, bacteria, transparency and disclosure.

Have you seen any recent products/brands that you have found particularly innovative in the sector?

During my presentation I will reveal a number of front-running products and brands to illustrate the trends.

What are you looking forward to most about attending the event and why should industry professionals attend?

For me, getting the opportunity to try and taste innovative new brands and speak to the creative people behind the brands is very inspirational and a must for being a step ahead of the industry. I’m always getting lots of new insights, trend inspiration and business opportunities from networking with people and asking open-ended questions about how they experience the developments in the industry.

Karina will be speaking in the Natural Theatre at 12.30-1.15.  To apply for a press pass, please visit > www.eventdata.co.uk/Forms/Default.aspx?FormRef=NPSB8Press.
