NUS CONCERNS OVER HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT REQUIREMENT FOR NURSING STUDENTS

The National Union of Students (NUS) today expressed serious concerns regarding the support that will be given to nursing and midwifery students required to spend an extra year working as healthcare assistants under plans announced in Parliament by Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt.

On Monday 25th March students from all around the UK will come to the Palace Hotel in Manchester to pitch ‘Dragon’s Den’-style for part of £100,000 pot created for student entrepreneurs by the National Union of Students.
Further education students around the country are holding events today highlighting the problems that the controversial scrapping of the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) has caused for students.
