DO YOU DREAM OF WINNING YOUR INDUSTRY’S ‘WORLD CUP’ TROPHY?

Jules took over FIFA with only 20 Member countries, and when he left 33 years later there were 85 Members. It is due to his drive that the first FIFA World Cup took place in Uruguay in 1930, and hence he was a key figure in starting a new era in World Football. The Trophy is named after him.

How Could Big Teams Like Italy, Holland and Turkey Fail to Qualify For Russia 2018?

As ‘World Cup Fever’ hits the UK and all eyes turn to Russia from 14th June to 15th July, football is going to be a big focus for conversation, whether you love it or hate it. But many big teams will not be going to Russia.

The Italian Manager used ‘old-school’ football tactics that were unpopular with the team and he lacked the charisma of the previous Manager Antonio Conte. Hence there was an Italian ‘mutiny’. Holland suffered from poor succession planning, with the great players of 2010 and 2014 playing their last internationals in 2018 and few younger players being given opportunities in the International squad. In addition, a key goal against Sweden was disallowed in what was considered a ‘flawed’ refereeing decision. Arguments over bonuses for Turkish players and their Football Federation from Euro 2016 dragged on into 2018, causing low morale in the team during the World Cup qualifiers.

In essence, the problems that plagued Italy, Holland and Turkey are similar to problems that plague Companies. Unpopular Managers, arguments relating to pay and bonuses, old-fashioned systems, poor succession planning, short-sightedness and low staff morale.

David Beckhamwas renowned for his long-range passing, crossing ability, and bending free-kicks. Alex Ferguson noted that Beckham "practised with a discipline to achieve an accuracy that other players wouldn't care about” Beckham spent hours practising his free kicks after training sessions had ended.

In a 2007 interview, Beckham said that "At school whenever the teachers asked, 'What do you want to do when you're older?' I'd say, 'I want to be a footballer.' And they'd say, 'No, what do you really want to do, for a job?' But that was the only thing I ever wanted to do”.

After marrying Victoria Adams (Posh Spice) in 1999 the couple became dubbed ‘Posh & Becks’ by the media. David and Victoria became fashion icons, sought after by clothing designers, perfume manufacturers etc as they were considered lucrative spokespeople.

Currently, the Beckham marketing power resides in the family’s three main corporate vehicles. Footworks, where David’s football-related revenues are collated, the "Brand Beckham" label, which includes money made from endorsements; and Beckham Venture, which accounts for Victoria’s fashion business.

How can our Office inspire and motivate our staff to bring our Vision of our Business into Reality?

A study commissioned by Cabe (The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment) and BCO (The British Council for Offices) found that 24% of people in the workforce felt that the office environment was responsible for their job satisfaction. In addition, 91% of mid- to senior-level managers believed that layout directly affected staff performance, with those who understood their employer's mission and business aspiration feeling more engaged.

The first step in identifying the right design for an organisation is to understand the mission: what is the company's goal? Once the mission is clear, defined goals for the refurbishment can be determined. These might be to increase the bottom line, enhance team working or improve motivation.
