Sports memorabilia charity dinner a roaring success

Sittingbourne, Kent, UK (mynewsdesk), 24 November 2010 – Kentish sports memorabilia giant Sports Idols has just completed its latest legendary charity dinner, this time in aid of the returned service person’s charity Help for Heroes. The dinner, which included an auction of some very special stock items, including film memorabilia, music memorabilia and TV memorabilia as well as the sporting souvenirs for which the Store first became known, was hosted by comedy legend Ricky Tomlinson, who made the event his only charity appearance for the year. Alongside Ricky, sports and entertainment big hitters Ralf Little, Gary Skyner and 70s superstar Rose Royce made the event a night to remember.

The Sports Idols has cemented a respectable place in the world of charity fundraisers, hosting a series of dinners in aid of Help for Heroes over the course of the last year. Each event has been bigger and more spectacular than the last, with every one seeing a host of unique sports memorabilia items snapped up at generous prices by philanthropic celebrities and members of the public alike. The latest sportsman’s dinner, which took place at the London Golf Club on the night of Saturday November 6, raised a record amount of money for the charity – mostly due to the excellent bids placed for the sporting souvenirs, music memorabilia, film memorabilia and TV memorabilia donated by the company.

The first sportsman’s dinner hosted by the Sports Idols was held in October 2009, and featured footie legends Ronnie Whelan, Alan Smith, Nigel Winterburn and John Aldridge. Two subsequent dinners followed prior to the November 6 event, both attended by a mixture of footballing heroes and Army boys.

Sports Idols expects to continue its tradition of donating sports memorabilia, film memorabilia, TV memorabilia and music memorabilia to charity events throughout 2011. The firm has an emotional connection with the charity Help for Heroes, and has frequently been praised by the founders of same for its unstinting dedication and generosity.

Now that the dinner is over, the plates are cleared and everyone who took part is enjoying a well earned rest, Sports Idols is turning its attention to its next challenge: Christmas. With sales already rising in the pre Christmas run up, and more expected to follow over the next few weeks, the boys and girls from the Kent based company have entered into a promise to keep sending out orders all the way through December – though they are warning that some deliveries may take a little longer than usual due to the increased volume of demand for sports memorabilia. That’s what you get for being so popular! Anyone looking to get their hooks on some TV memorabilia, film memorabilia or music memorabilia for a Christmas gift would be wise to start placing orders now, so as to ensure that no disappointments are felt on the day.

All normal delivery insurance and returns policy promises remain the same. Sports Idols sends out every item in perfect condition, insured to arrive at its destination in the same state. Take advantage of the Kent store this Christmas and your gifts will be perfect too.
