Pockethunt - the new online recruitment platform inspired by Tinder - enters the UK market

Pockethunt turns recruitment upside down by mixing it with gamification and adding a twist of fun.

The various job boards, employee matching tools and recruitment agencies offer more than enough tools for the competitive recruitment industry, but the game is lacking pace and fun. Pockethunt is about making headhunting fast, fun and available for everyone.

A group of recruitment professionals launched Pockethunt in Finland last summer. With its new approach to finding talents and its elements of gamification, Pockethunt soon gained a reputation as the “Tinder of recruitment” – which is where the idea for the new web application originally came from.

With Pockethunt any professional can create a career profile anonymously. Employers and recruiters can search for different skillsets, interests and other criteria with the search tool, which then gives them a list of anonymous profiles to browse. When a recruiter finds an interesting skillset, they can send a profile viewing request to see the whole profile. The profile holder is the one who decides which employers get to view their details.

“We want to turn the traditional way of recruitment upside down by making headhunting easy and available for everyone anonymously. Basically, it's all about finding motivated talents who have the right skills,” says Joakim Honkasalo, Co-founder of Pockethunt. “By skipping job ads people stay true to their genuine interests. We're popularising headhunting and combining it with a twist of fun.”

One of the features allows registered professionals to browse and swipe employers. “If an employer interests you, give it a like and you automatically reveal your profile,” Honkasalo says.

As the service goes global, it will also be possible to see what other countries have to offer. “We are going global with Pockethunt, and launching first in the UK was a natural choice as there is obviously huge potential there and the British people are adaptive and curious about new and alternative digital tools.”
