Practical Action underlines its commitment to supporters.

Practical Action's response to criticism of charity fundraising in some sections of the media has been to underline the high standards it maintains in the way in which it recruits donors and handles the data of existing supporters.

Practical Action promises that we do not sell or take part in reciprocal arrangements which share the details of supporters, enquirers or any other data.

We do not undertake ‘cold calling’ or telemarketing to recruit new supporters. However, as an existing supporter we may call you from time to time, unless you have told us not to.

We also are unusual in having an in-house team dedicated to responding to our supporters’ enquiries. Therefore, if you ring Practical Action (01926 634400) between 9am and 5pm or send us a letter or email, there will be someone here able to answer your queries in person.

If you do become a supporter, we will write to you regularly to update you on the appeals you have supported and how you can continue to help us do our amazing work. Our most recent research found that the majority of supporters thought our frequency of mailing was about right.
