Press release -

US government relies on Recharge

The US Department of Energy turned to Recharge, the leading global news platform for the renewable energy industry, as a key primary source for a major new study produced to help spur development of offshore wind power in American waters.

Prepared by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the 2014-15 Offshore Wind Technologies Market Report contains a wealth of data and analysis of the US domestic and global market to assist developers, financiers and others with a stake in the sector.

Recharge is the business intelligence source cited most in the 110-page study (http://energy.gov/eere/wind/downloads/2014-2015-offshore-wind-technologies-market-report), with 17 references to its articles.

"This US Energy Department report will be the go-to source of information for the global wind industry as it expands its development of offshore power plant and infrastructure to harness the 4TW resource lying off its coasts," states Recharge Editor-in-Chief Darius Snieckus.

The report references issues as diverse as turbine and foundation technology, state and federal government policy, finance, and market development in the US and Europe.

"The extensive citing of Recharge in this benchmark publication is a clear recognition of our having quickly become a byword for reliable, accurate and pioneering business intelligence for the renewable energy industry.

"We look forward to expanding our multi-platform provision of industry-leading news, analysis and in-depth features on this fascinating and fast-evolving sector."

This year has already been a landmark one for the US offshore sector, which in July put its first 'steel in the water' at Deepwater Wind's Block Island project off Rhode Island – with Recharge providing the most comprehensive media coverage.

The report was issued as the US industry gathered for the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) Offshore Windpower 2105 event in Baltimore.
