Rochdale On The Rise

Tetrosyl, the largest car care manufacturer in Europe, today anounced a major modernisation and reorganisation of its manufacturing and office premises to support the continuing growth and success of the business.

Its site at Walmersley, Bury has planning consent for housing and there has been strong interest expressed by the major house builders. The redevelopment of this site will allow Tetrosyl to expand the company’s existing manufacturing facility at the Bridge Hall site in Bury. This will involve almost all of the sales proceeds from the Walmersley site.

The expenditure will comprise of brand new bespoke manufacturing, batch process plant and ancillary services to replace all of the existing equipment presently housed in the Walmersley factory. The refit will take up to 18 months to complete. The enhanced manufacturing facility in Bury will be the cornerstone of Tetrosyl’s ongoing growth and success. Bury Council has been exceptionally supportive in this major overhaul of our business.

Part of the closing down of the Walmersley site includes the redevelopment of Tetrosyl’s existing office and manufacturing facility and the establishment of a new corporate headquarters in Rochdale Town Centre. The Newgate House office has been acquired for this purpose and the relocation also includes the company’s research and technical development centre plus a major new showroom feature for the company’s wide range of products.

The Walmersley facilities which are predominantly Victorian Mills are showing their age and we needed to look for new premises to better meet the needs and demands of our customers from around the world”.

Schofield also points out “The opportunity to acquire Newgate House came along at a time when we had to make the decision to move and we are very pleased to have now acquired this building. I have to say that the response and support we have received from Rochdale Council and Rochdale Development Agency has been first class”.
