ACR Electronics: ACR Electronics Named Winner in Florida Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Awards
Leading safety and survival equipment supplier celebrates second honor of 2018
Safety and survival specialist ACR Electronics, Inc. has been recognized as one of the highest-performing manufacturers in Florida as a winner at the annual Florida Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Award Ceremony.
The Broward County-based company was presented with the top award in the category for companies with up to 199 employees at the 2018 Governor's Sterling Awards Banquet at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes in Orlando.
It is the second prestigious manufacturing award for ACR Electronics this year after it was named South Florida’s Manufacturer of the Year by the South Florida Manufacturers Association (SFMA) in March.
After a collaborative judging process by The Florida Sterling Council and FloridaMakes involving extensive evaluations, site visits and interviews, ACR was selected as the outstanding candidate for its exceptional leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce and operations. Employees of the marine, outdoor, aviation and military equipment supplier were also praised for their commitment to saving lives after finishing ahead of fellow finalists Canam Steel Corporation and Seaway Plastics Engineering, LLC.
Representing the company at the ceremony, Gerry Angeli, Executive Vice President at ACR Electronics, said: “We accept this award with great pride with the knowledge that this achievement is only possible with an exceptional team doing exceptional work. This year, 27 manufacturing companies were selected from over 120 nominees in six categories based on number of employees. FloridaMakes will feature the finalists in upcoming plant tours, webinars, and events to help share best practices that can benefit Florida’s manufacturing sector.
