SkiStar Åre: Skiing and big events in Åre until 1 May

The snow has hardly yet turned into sorbet on the slopes in Åre since temperatures, despite a long period of sunny days have stayed mainly below zero. This has resulted in magic skiing conditions at this time of the season. We are now looking forward to playful slushy conditions but with cold snow further up on Mt Åreskutan and several big events such as classic Freeride in the Tusenmetern area and the popular downhill race Skutskjutet. Besides these, well-known artists will feature on the nightclub stages such as Icona Pop, Amanda Jensen, Agnes, Panetoz and Calle Moraeus.

Easter in Åre was rounded off with the super event Jon Olsson Invitational with several of the world elite among the participants. The several thousand spectators watched Norwegian PK Hunder bring home the Big Air competition while his compatriot Truls Johansen won the parallel slalom race Alpine Challenge. The event concluded with a great party at Bygget.

- This is how we intend to continue the rest of the season, with epic skiing and big events mixed with parties and fun for the group of friends as well as families, says Pernilla Enqvist, Head of Marketing & Events SkiStar Åre.

The lifts in central Åre will remain open until 1 May. This means skiing on the slopes in sunshine and spring temperatures and bare ground in the village where the cafés and bars waiting to serve the guests serving outdoors. Winter spring in Åre is the fifth season often treating the guests to varied conditions, ranging from snowfall on Mt Åreskutan to summer heat during the coffee break; a time also including fun events on the slopes as well as in the town centre.
