STANLEY® updates FATMAX® Small Angle Grinders range with No Volt release switch

March 2016

STANLEY® has introduced the FATMAX® next generation FME821 115mm 850W No Volt Release Small Angle Grinders for tradespeople carrying out a large variety of cutting and grinding tasks. The range complies with forthcoming legislation stating the requirement for a No Volt release switch for any grinder with a lock-on switch from April 2016, preventing the dangerous restart of the tool after loss of power.

Intuitive and easy-to-operate, the angle grinders feature a powerful 850 Watt, 12,000 rpm motor allowing the completion of applications without the risk of stalling or becoming bogged down when under load. The glass filled nylon housing has been built to an industrial standard for increased strength and durability in the most demanding of conditions. The compact body and low profile gearbox allows greater accessibility in hard to reach and tight working areas. Due to the angled side handle with comfortable gripping, the user has greater control with two handed operation and reduced fatigue during periods of prolonged use.

For added user safety, the latest generation FME821 is fitted with a No Volt release safety switch to prevent accidental startup of the disc when power is restored to the tool. In addition, the soft start reduces movement of the tool on startup, increasing user control.

All angle grinders within this range have a tool-free adjustable guard, a spindle lock to facilitate the changing of accessories and a dust-sealed switch that prevents contamination. They also come complete with a heavy-duty STANLEY Kit Box with metal latches for protection during storage, and ease of transportation of the tool between job site locations.

Darren Barber, Marketing Director at STANLEY® comments, “The updated line-up of Small Angle Grinders help us to address the demands of today’s professionals for a durable, compact and intuitive grinding and cutting tool. The range now complies with the evolving legislative requirements to keep all operators safe in their work. Our mission at STANLEY® is to help end users do every job better than the last, and this has been achieved through a tool that combines power, ease of maneuverability and enhanced design, which enables tradespeople to perform faster, better and for longer when tackling a diverse range of tasks on site.”
