Press release -

Stena Line is lovin’ every ‘Mini’ of it

Hundreds of Mini cars and their owners descended on Stena Line recently as they made their way to Ireland via Holyhead, Fishguard, Liverpool and Cairnryan to attend the International Mini Meeting which runs from May 25 – 29 in Westport, County Mayo.

Stena Line signed a travel deal with International Mini Meeting organisers that have brought even greater numbers of tourists from Britain and across Europe to explore Ireland and its many attractions.

Diane Poole OBE, Travel Commercial Manager – Irish Sea South, said: “It was such a colourful sight, seeing so many different types of minis from all over Europe and with so many owners, partners and friends there plus our other passengers, the atmosphere was just incredible.”

The ferry company’s celebrations as the cars travel on their routes have been anything but ‘mini’, explained Diane

“We have a ‘Mini’ installation with a race track and remote controlled cars for our customers to use all week at the Holyhead and Fishguard ports. It was great seeing so many children and even the big kids compete with each other in good spirited races around the mini track. In Holyhead, we even had a brand new Mini car there for passengers to take selfies with, courtesy of Halliwell Jones in North Wales.

“Stena Line is a gateway to the whole of Ireland and once onboard our passengers will enjoy facilities such as free movies, free Wi-Fi, amazing value onboard shopping, luxury Stena Plus lounge, ensuite cabins, and a choice of places to dine, including a Barista Coffee House and Met Bar and Grill. Taking the ferry to Ireland has never been easier!”, concluded Diane.

Stena Line is the largest ferry operator on the Irish Sea, offering the biggest fleet and the widest choice of routes between Britain to Ireland including Holyhead to Dublin, Fishguard to Rosslare, Cairnryan to Belfast and Liverpool to Belfast routes, a total of 228 weekly sailing options between Britain and Ireland. Stena Line also offers a direct service from Rosslare to Cherbourg with three return crossings a week.
